tnt: metatext

This week's contest is on!

This week's TnT is about meta-text, parts of the story that exist outside the text but complement it. The TV show Misfits also employs this: the characters tweet in-show. One of my acquaintances is also making a film where one of the characters has a Tumblr and uses it to chart her progress throughout the course of the film. This helps make the story more 'real'.

How useful are these formats in contributing to your enjoyment of the story? Do you plan on using them? If yes, why? If no, why?

idk about that but I hate hate hate footnotes in electronic text. And endnotes in all text. If there was a way for the footnotes to be other than a million miles away, okay. Or if anyone ever put in handy links to the footnote and then back to where you were reading. But I hate it when I go look at a footnote and then spend a million years hunting down where I was in the story again.

Slender Man isn't a narrative. There are the youtube series like Marble Hornets and EverymanHYBRID and the blogs/ARGs like Just Another Fool... but they are all separate and individual projects inspired by the Something Awful thread that created Slender Man.
