Hello, pumpkins! Time for another challenge contest...
A special welcome to any new members! Please feel free to jump straight into competition this week, and don't forget to take a look at our community guidelines and community icons. This week, we'll be doing a one-week writing challenge. For a challenge competition, there will be a topic in addition to a constraint of some sort. Winners of challenges will receive a small banner with their name and title of their entry, if applicable.
This week's challenge is...
Topic: Delicate
Delicate -- fragile -- weak. There are certainly distinctions between these words, but we approach them all with similar practice. The nuances of a delicate object are generally positive; perhaps we don't want to approach a person, a teacup, a pastry, without an inordinate amount of caution for fear of breaking its form. We respect that which is delicate. What does this mean for your characters?
Submissions will close Saturday, October 30, 5 pm GMT (noon EST).
Note: Format refers to whether your entry is fiction, nonfiction, poetry, script, etc; this information, along with the word count, is used when assigning editors. Trigger warnings will be listed with your entry in the polls. Any other authors' notes may go on your entry. Good luck, and happy writing!
