So it's a given that we're all writers here, yes? But what about other creative endeavours? I crochet and cross stitch and mess around in Photoshop when I need a non-words creative outlet. Sometimes it replaces the desire to write, and sometimes it breaks the creative inertia so I can write.

What sort of crafts do you do? How is that sort of thing related to your writing?

I knit! And I listen to writing podcasts while I knit XD

Knitting cramps my fingers up too much. I had to learn to crochet instead. (also I was never overly good at knitting anyway. I am much better at crochet. Can do more interesting things and much more quickly. Funny how that works.)

What are you knitting? I always like to know projects!

I am terrible at crochet! I was good at it once upon a time but I can never keep the different stitches straight in my head. I can do a chain for edging or a cast-on row on a knit project now, but that's about it.

As always, I have lots of WIPs, but the main ones right now are a linen-stitch bag for one of my Tarot decks and a pair of cable mitten-glove hybrids (think Vulcan). I also recently finished an adorable baby hat, and I'm going to give it to the baby I made it for this weekend!

My main crochet WIP is a baby blanket that I need to go buy more yarn for. I just haven't been over to that part of town yet! And I've got a pair of socks that just aren't working and have been on hiatus for months, and a couple robots that I just don't feel like working on right now. So I've been working on my cross-stitch instead. (It's huge and will take forever, but it's so much fun.)

Baby hats! I have a baby hat scheduled for the future. Also a baby jacket, though I'm a bit afraid of how well that'll turn out. I'm not the world's most consistent crochet-er, in terms of gauge and tension and thus size. But whatever, it'll be fun.
