Today's TnT was suggested by [personal profile] catness (and wasn't that just a lifesaver this week, with everybody too busy to even remember to post the TnT on the right day, much less come up with something ourselves!)

Morning Pages are this idea (that you've probably heard of before) that you should write every morning day. Three pages of whatever comes into your head. Diary-style whining about your setbacks or extended celebrations of your successes? Fantastic! Three pages of I have no idea what to write? Also good! Sooner or later, some little gem will pop out of all this.

Have you tried doing morning pages before? (How long did your attempt last?) What's good/bad about them for you?

I did 750words.com (the online equivalent) for I think about 130 days straight - moved and lost internet and therefore fell off, and all subsequent attempts kept failing (and failing, and failing, and failing) so I ragequit.

I attribute this not only to the failing bit, but also that their openID authentication sucked and locked me out for days sometimes (OH COME ON) and also that I had to be connected to the Internet and it had to be reasonably fast for the words to appear as I went. I type fast, and it's not helpful when the words appear on the screen fifteen seconds later. IDK. It shouldn't affect me! But it does! It's like my fingers suddenly, in the absence of a visual guide, lose their ability to make words.

At any rate, that is my Thoughts on 750words, if you ever wanted to know!
